Tips for Applying:

In order to improve the chance of receiving one of the scholarships, good documentation will be critical. The following is a list of critical documents and recommendations for applying:

  1. A copy of the applicant’s Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) SAR report. This report is the PDF report titled “Electronic Student Aid Report (SAR)” that is emailed to you after your FAFSA submission. Please do not submit your FAFSA application.

  2. A list of additional scholarships, grants, or financial aid that the applicant has been awarded.

  3. An essay describing the applicant's educational goals, future career plans, the level of demand, and potential salary for the applicant's planned career (must be a minimum of 500 words). This would be a good chance for the applicant to show an earnest desire to obtain a STEM degree.

  4. Applicant Educational/Leadership Resume. When putting together a resume, the applicant should consider including additional items like extracurricular activities, organization memberships, and any test scores that might help the foundation members in evaluating the application.

  5. Three (3) letters of recommendation. The applicant should consider at least one from a school official and one from a business professional. The letters of recommendation should state the number of years the individual has known the applicant, and, therefore, should be from individuals who have known the student long enough to have some understanding of his or her character and abilities.

For applicants who are selected for the scholarship selection committee interview, the following additional documents will be required at the time of the interview:
